Shipping & Delivery
How long your order takes from proof to doorstep, where we ship, and what may be payable on arrival outside the EU.
Business Engrave (a trading name of Archivistry B.V.)
In force from 4 October 2026
This policy sets out how long your order takes, where we ship, and what taxes or duties you may have to pay on arrival. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions of Sale; where the two appear to differ, the Terms prevail.
1. How long it takes
1.1 Your proof and production
Every order is engraved to your specification. After you order, we send you a digital proof, and nothing is engraved until you approve it.
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| Production | 3 to 5 business days from your approval of the proof |
| Larger batches and complex designs | May take longer — we will confirm the timeline with you |
1.2 Delivery options
You choose your delivery option at checkout:
| Option | What it is | Transit time |
|---|---|---|
| Tracked Delivery | Insured and tracked | Normally 3 to 5 working days after dispatch |
| Express Courier | Courier delivery | Normally the next working day across most of the EU |
Transit times depend heavily on the carrier’s capacity and on international delays, customs inspections, force majeure and other external factors we do not control.
1.3 Overall estimate
The time until delivery is the time until you approve your proof, plus production, plus transit. The figures above are indications only, not guaranteed delivery dates. The actual time depends strongly on the destination country, any special shipping constraints or difficulties, the international situation at the time, and customs inspections in certain countries. Delays can and do occur.
Whatever the estimate, we will always deliver within 30 days of your order unless a longer period has been expressly agreed with you in advance; time we spend waiting for your proof approval, or for information or artwork from you, extends that period. If we cannot deliver in time, you may set a reasonable further period and, if we miss that too, cancel and receive a full refund.
2. Where we ship, and what it costs
2.1 Delivery is charged on top of the product price. The cost of the option you choose is always shown at checkout, before you pay, and is the amount you pay.
2.2 We ship to all 27 member states of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein:
| Region | Countries | Customs |
|---|---|---|
| European Union | Austria · Belgium · Bulgaria · Croatia · Cyprus · Czechia · Denmark · Estonia · Finland · France · Germany · Greece · Hungary · Ireland · Italy · Latvia · Lithuania · Luxembourg · Malta · Netherlands · Poland · Portugal · Romania · Slovakia · Slovenia · Spain · Sweden | No customs formalities — see section 3 |
| Outside the EU | United Kingdom · Switzerland · Norway · Iceland · Liechtenstein | Import charges may apply — see section 4 (Northern Ireland: see section 3) |
2.3 Other destinations on request. If you would like delivery to a country not listed above, please contact us before ordering.
3. Taxes and duties — European Union and Northern Ireland
Prices on our website are shown excluding VAT. VAT, where due, is calculated at checkout on the basis of your delivery address and shown to you before you pay.
Orders delivered within the European Union are not subject to customs formalities. The total shown at checkout is the total amount you pay. No further VAT, customs duty or handling fee arises on delivery anywhere within the EU.
Northern Ireland (BT postcodes) is treated the same way for customs purposes: under the Windsor Framework it continues to follow EU rules for goods.
4. Taxes and duties — United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein
This section applies to the United Kingdom (England, Scotland and Wales), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which are outside the customs territory of the European Union, and to any other destination outside the EU that we agree to deliver to.
4.1 Import VAT, customs duties and carrier handling fees may be charged by the authorities of the destination country or by the carrier when your order arrives. They are payable by you as the recipient, and are separate from the amount you pay us at checkout.
4.2 Please check what is payable in your country before you order. It is entirely the responsibility of the recipient to establish which charges may be incurred on import and to pay them. We cannot calculate, predict, absorb or refund them.
4.3 Customs handling fees. On top of any tax, a customs handling or clearance fee may be charged — either by the carrier or under your local regulations — and it is not under our control. This fee can be relatively high regardless of the value of your order. On a small order that can be a substantial proportion of what you paid. Please take it into account before ordering.
4.4 Customs inspections in some countries can add significantly to transit time. This is outside our control and is not covered by the estimates in section 1.
5. Tracking, failed delivery and lost parcels
5.1 We send you the tracking details once your order has been handed over to the carrier.
5.2 Until the parcel physically reaches you, the risk of loss or damage in transit is ours. If your parcel is lost, stolen or damaged in transit, contact us and we will remake and resend your order or, where that is not possible, refund you in full.
5.3 To allow us to make a claim against the carrier, you must report a missing parcel within 30 days of the latest estimated delivery date. Before reporting, please check the tracking history, any local pickup point named in it, and with the people at your address. Where a parcel is recorded by the carrier as delivered, we may ask you to confirm in writing that you did not receive it before we resend or refund.
5.4 If you instruct the carrier to leave your parcel in a place of your choosing, to deliver it to a different address, or to release it without a signature, the parcel travels at your risk from the moment your instruction is carried out.
5.5 If delivery fails because the address you gave was incorrect or incomplete, or because the parcel was not collected within the carrier’s retention period, we may charge you the actual cost of re-dispatch, payable in advance.
5.6 Import charges on orders sent outside the European Union are your responsibility, as set out in section 4 and in our Terms. If a parcel is returned to us undelivered for a reason within your control — because those charges were not paid, because it was not collected, or because the address was incorrect — we will hold it for 30 days and contact you about re-dispatch at your cost. Because the product is made to your specification, no refund is due; if we have not heard from you within that period, we may dispose of the item.
5.7 Orders containing several items may be delivered in separate parcels at no extra cost to you.
5.8 What happens if something arrives faulty or damaged is explained in our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations policy.
